Joshi Haskell

Joshi Haskell was born and raised in Salt Lake City. Her name is pronounced "Yoshi". The J is pronounced as a Y, like Johan and Sonja, thanks to her dad who traveled extensively as a research scientist.

Joshi was one of Montessori Community School's first alumni, having attended the Third Avenue Montessori location over 20 years ago. She has been around the school throughout her life, as her mother, Motoko, was an administrator with Robyn for over 15 years.

Joshi received a bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism from the University of Utah in 2005. She originally considered pursuing a degree in Fine Arts after many years of private and public art classes. She has worked with children throughout her life as an Assistant Montessori Teacher, nanny, tutor and physical education specialist. Joshi has also been on the board of the Salt Lake JACL (Japanese American Citizens League) for the last few years. We are very happy that Joshi has returned to MCS to share her many talents with us!

In her spare time, Joshi thoroughly enjoys painting, rafting and traveling as well as snowboarding, snowshoeing, reading, yoga, dancing, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Little known fact about Joshi: She competed in the 1999 Utah Winter Games in the boarder cross event. She also wants to paint baby nursery murals as a side job.
